Pamala's first day of school

Kissimmee, Florida

I am just tickled piggy pink to be in the winner's circle here at PudgyPoo.com!

I live in Kissimmee, Florida with my three children - Josh, Chelsea, and Nathaniel, three potbellied piggy's - Ms Piggy, Romeo, and CoonieCoon, five bunny's - Fluffy, Thumper, Rusty, PrettyRabbit, and DinkyDude, and one cockatiel - NikkiBird.

Ms Piggy came to my yard sale a couple years ago and stayed - she came from a terrible home and her owner agreed to sell her to me. She was a toddler and weighed about 30 lbs when we got her. We love her very much and fought the city for almost a year in order to keep her. She is our "upstairs" piggy and likes to flop down next to one of the kids or me for belly rubs.

Romeo was picked up by animal control in downtown St Cloud FL after Hurricane Charlie. He has one blue eye and one brown eye and he is truly mommy's boy! He would rather lay down for me to love on him and rub his belly than eat! And he has this thing he does that just melts my heart - he snuffles my bare toes ever so gently with his nose - he is definitely a Romeo!

CoonieCoon was rescued from a barbarian in the Lake Mary FL area who raises piggy's to sell to people with dogs who then train the dogs to kill piggy's! He was only five or six weeks old when we got him and was so tiny that my boyfriend really didn't expect him to live. But he did and he is just the most laid back piggy you'll ever meet! You can literally lift his head up in your hands and give him snooty tisses any time you want!

I love all of my baby's, but sharing my home with piggy's has been a life changing experience. My love for them has compelled me to become increasingly more involved with rescue, placement, and zoning. For me, one of the hardest parts of rescue is fostering because at some point after falling in love with them, you have to let them go.

Little Red was brought to my mentor, Lana Hollenback, in Ft Myers FL. She found him a home at Kindred Spirits in Ocala. I live about halfway between so it was arranged that he should live with me until his spot opened up. Of course, I fell in love with him and even though I know he will be happy there, it was so hard to leave him. I cried all the way home. I've already been back to visit him and I plan to visit him often.

I am now fostering Sheila and Snoopy, who were picked up separately by animal control. They became very close during their time there and are two of the sweetest piggy's I've ever met. Sheila is just the cuddliest little girl and loves to be hugged! Snoopy is a little shy but is also a little lovebug. I hope to find them a home with someone to love them as much as I already do.
